Sprinkling in Some Glam: How Does Your Garden Grow? {Part II}

Hopefully y'all are not sick of my gardening posts yet! Well, gardens are blooming everywhere I look and I am loving it! My little garden is doing pretty good (shockingly!) and I am really enjoying it! I love this time of year. We have had a lot if rain in Nashville (which definitely gets old at times), but the bright side is everything is so green and gorgeous! I wanted to share some more pretty garden tools and accessories that I think can make gardening a little more exciting for those whose gardens may not necessarily be a contender for garden of the month. And I also thought I would throw in a few more photos that I've run across over time and happen to find really inspiring...

Hello! I am crazy about this chair...indoors or out!

I would love to display some pretty potted plants on this fantastic cart

These vintage garden markers add some unexpected glamour

A pretty garden hose?! Why not!

Love this garden bench. I can picture the canopy overgrown with ivy.

Simple + pretty galvanized watering can

Fresh herbs are a great way to start a garden, plus they're easy to maintain.

A lovely way to display some fresh-cut flowers from your garden

Really cute little pinecone planter

Black + white paper lanterns to spruce up any outside space

A great basket to use for gathering up veggies and fruit from your garden (I wish i had a garden that produced enough fruit and/or veggies to need this basket)!

Bright and happy melamine plates for those outside summertime meals

I adore this roped cloche

Add some candle light with these porcelain hurricanes

Colorful wire trellis supports for those climbing plants

There is something so satisfying about growing flowers or produce from seeds

I soooo want this bench!

And here are some more garden photos that I find inspiring and will maybe get your creative thoughts reeling...

I absolutely adore this teapot staircase garden!

Love all the blue

Amazingly interesting rooftop garden...love the drawer planters!

Gotta an extra over-the-door shoe hanger handy? Here's a great way to put it to use!

:)

So so so pretty

LOVE this!

So, this is a greenhouse, yes, i'm serious!

This reminds me of that movie The Secret Garden, has anyone else seen that? My sisters and I used to watch it when we were little

My humble little garden

So, I am going to post the second part of my first gardening post, but before I do, i thought i would share some pictures of my own garden. First things first, as previously mentioned, I am not an avid gardener at all. Frankly I am happy as long as I am not killing helpless little plants. With that said, my garden is of the amateur kind, but I like it and hopefully this post does not bore you to tears!

Rosemary, it grows like a weed

Some lemon basil (this stuff is delicious, if you have not tried it, do it!), a pretty plant, some poblano peppers and lavender that are slowly sprouting up from the seeds I planted.

Basil, jalapenos, some lemon basil that unfortunately drowned, due to tons of rainfall (sad) and a tiny empty pot that I need to fill

I love this pretty purple plant, it attracts butterflies

Fun turquoise lanterns

Another pretty purple plant, it's called salvia, which i believe is the stuff miley cyrus smoked at some point???! All I know is that it's pretty to look at.

Our turquoise adirondack chairs that we painted a couple of months ago

These adirondack chairs are bright in person, but they are even brighter in photos

Since this post is of the outside variety, i decided to throw in some grilling pictures too

My hubby, the grilling guru (as he likes to think ;))

When the weather is warm and nice, we like to grill out a lot

We love grilling pizzas...mmmmmm....they're sooo good on the grill

Almost ready, just have to let the fresh mozzarella melt :)

We also have some poppies, that I love, but the blooms just fell off :( And we have three pretty hostas on the front porch that I did not get around to taking any pictures of.

I hope you enjoy your nice long upcoming weekend! :D

Oldest + Dearest

Last week i went to visit one of my oldest and dearest friends from elementary school, Amy, who I had not seen in six years! She lives in North Carolina. We had a great time together. We had a first grade class together, so we go waaaay back! We were super close from about 5th grade to 9th grade (I moved to Florida with my family the summer after 9th grade). After I moved we still remained to be great friends but life happens and it had been six years since we had seen one another. Something had to be done about that, so we found a good time for both of us and I booked a flight up there. Needless to say, we talked a lot...we had a lot of catching up to do. It was so great to see her!

For some crazy reason, we did not take many pictures over my quick visit, what the heck is that about? I guess we were a bit excited to see one another and forgot about snapping pictures, so we managed to cram a photo session in during the span of my last full day there!

Gotta love the stretch-the-arm-out-to-make-sure-we're-both-in-there-photos! What's two girls to do when no one else is around?!

Out at lunch

While at lunch, we snagged a waiter and got him to take some pictures for us! Yay!

We also visited with another one of my childhood besties, Lily, who just had a baby (he's a doll!) and we had a ball catching up with her! We were in the excited catching up haze and did not think about taking pictures...I am currently kicking myself because of that! Next time, next time I will remember to take some more pictures! It was great to see y'all!

Amy, now come visit me in Nashville pretty lady! For realsies! ;) Love you!

Happenings...

Last week my sister, Katie, was here for a visit! If you have read my blog at all you know how close Katie and I are and how much I love when she comes up to visit us...this time was no different. We had a ball! This was her first visit to Nashville so we did a lot of exploring and had a ton of fun. We also laughed a lot, which is always a wonderful thing.

Katie and me

Us at Margot's

We had some delicious drinks at some cool bars

Yummmm

Matt & me after church on Easter Sunday

Love her and I am already anticipating her next visit!

Katie and I went to some of the awesome antique stores in downtown Franklin and I could not take my eyes off this little piece of fabulousness

Love it!

Here is the Easter tree that I decorated and put in our living room

I have since taken it down, but I wanted to share it because it's so happy and cute

And on another note, my husband is super sweet and very thoughtful (most of the time!) but I thought the nice delivery lady had the wrong house when I opened the door this morning and saw this gorgeous arrangement in her hands...

Peonies are my favorite!

Gorgeous

But then she said they were for me and I happily accepted them. Today is the anniversary of when Matt & I met and he always does something sweet and unexpected to acknowledge the date (which I feel embarrassed to admit has previously slipped my mind in the past and i felt pretty crappy when I did not know why he was giving me a sweet card and little something out of the blue). I am very grateful to have a hubby who always remembers this day and I think it is really cute.
