Oscar Fashion Favorites 2012

Last night - along with many, many others, I tuned into the Oscars to see all of the dazzling gowns and jewels. There were not any crazy shockers just lots of pretty gowns and shoes and jewels. Here are my favorites from last night's evening...

Milla Jovovich in Elie Saab. Far and away my favorite. I think she looked flawless from head-to-toe.

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton. I'm always so excited to see what she will be wearing because I love her and I usually love what she choses to wear. That coral color is gorgeous and I absolutely love that she carried an unexpected hot pink clutch! I also love her necklace and that brooch. The details on this gown are stunning!

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji. I love this gown alone and I love this gown on her. She was glowing. I also loved her acceptance speech.

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen. I'll admit, at first I was not crazy about this dress, but the more I looked a it, the more I liked it. Her hair and makeup looked incredible as well. She's just so pretty.

Glenn Close in Zac Posen. Perfection. She looked so good and was very age appropriate.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford. I mean she always looks good. I have mixed feelings about the cape and hair, but she looks great.

Maya Rudolph in Johanna Johnson. From the hair to the dress - I loved it all.

Tina Fey in Carolina Herrera. I was hoping she would chose something other than a dark color, but let's be honest, she looked fantastic.

Viola Davis in Vera Wang. I'm obsessed with the color and the detailing on the bottom of this gown. I do not love the fit of the top though...a bit too tight.

Lastly, Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace. She always looks incredible, but the posing was over the top. To present an award and then have one of the winners mimic the pose you're trying so hard to stay in was hilarious to me. She looked great, I just wish she had not tried to make the slit in her dress so glaringly obvious all night.

Bundling Up

With the temperature consistently dropping outside, it's definitely time to pull out the outerwear. I happen to love coats and jackets. I have a bunch of jackets and coats to mix things up because I wear them all late fall and winter long. It gets cold enough in many parts of the country that the only part of your outfit that is ever seen all winter long is your outerwear, so why not make it really cute?! Today I am going to focus mainly on coats, but that's likely because it's really cold and rainy outside right now.

Gorgeous classic wool camel trench

I adore this bright red belted coat

If you love leopard print, here's the perfect coat for you.

Pretty purple peacoat.

Military inspired cape

Cute cobalt blue coat

Another classic trench coat

Classic Burberry quilted jacket

Fun kelly green coat

Alexa Chung for Madewell navy plaid coat

Not a jacket or a coat, but I love this pretty faux fur vest.

Boot Loot 2011

It's that time of the year again, the time so many girls get very excited for...it's time for boots! I love boots and even though it's the end of October, the temperatures have been fluctuating a lot here so I have been switching up my daily style of shoe choice based on whether it's 80 or 50-something degrees outside. I have already worn a few pairs of boots this fall and based on the upcoming forecast, it looks like soon I will be able to wear my boots whenever I would like. Here are some boots that have caught my eye this season...

Yes, please. And now let's look at the gorgeous backs, shall we...
So so pretty.

Love these cute booties.

Here is the taller version of the one above. I adore these. The color and the buckles. Yes and yes.

Sexy high heeled booties. Fun for a night out.

Mid-calf boots. Loving the contrast of the leather and suede.

Classics. And they'll last too.

I first spotted these in the store months ago and I look at them every time I'm in there. I like.

Super cute camel booties.

These look comfortable. And I like the gray option too.

How fun are these pink Hunter's?! I have them in brown and they're my go-to for rainy or snowy days, plus they are really comfortable.

Or these bright pink Sperry's are just as fun. When it's gloomy outside and you're not feeling it, these could be the perfect remedy.

It's Fall Y'all

Fall officially began last Friday and I could not be more excited. Along with the cooler weather, fall also includes great clothes and boots which I am so excited about because of all the wonderful textures and layering. I also love everything else that fall brings with it, the leaves changing colors, pumpkin patches, football, apple picking, and homemade soup. Here are some of my favorite elements that come along with fall...

Pretty outerwear, like this camel cape.

Light scarves! I'm loving the mix of
plaid and leopard print on this scarf.

The perfect pumpkin wreath

Stunning.

A gorgeous fall flower arrangement

Pretty mercury glass pumpkins

Yay! Time for pumpkin muffins!

Cute little pumpkin salt & pepper cellars

Soup - even better if it's served directly out of a pumpkin
that has been transformed into an adorable bowl.

Sparkly glass acorn vase fillers

Pretty porch displays

Simple rattan pumpkins

Happy Fall!

Bag Lady

I am an accessories girl. I absolutely adore clothes, but I love accessories. I get giddy over shoes, bags, jewelry, belts, scarves, etc. I just love how accessories can really change an outfit. I love that accessories can make a go-to dress or outfit feel fresh and new. Accessories are so fun to me and there are so many great options. With the beginning of fall literally starting tomorrow I decided to share some handbags and clutches that I think are great for the upcoming season.

Polka dotted clutch with brown buckle detailing. Sold!

I love anything in cobalt. And I adore the gold tipped point on this clutch.

Hello bright pink stripe. You just made my day.

Another great envelope clutch...this time in leopard!

Absolutely adore the contrast. So fantastic.

My husband would laugh if I purchased this bag because of it's mini size. I tend to carry too much stuff around in my bags (unless I'm carrying a clutch for an evening), so this darling little bag is not very practical for me, but I still think it's super cute.

Gah! This color blocking rocks. I like a lot. And you can't see it in this image, but the short handle is another shade of gorgeous blue! Swoon x's 100.

This bag is also a bit small, but it's just too pretty to ignore.

This color is complete eye candy to me. I love the shape and vintage feel as well.

Gorgeous classic. Goes with everything.

I really love the zebra print.

Kelly green goodness.

Yes please. The colors are amazing.

So, I know this is not a handbag, but can we please discuss the awesomeness of this duffle bag?! Slap sequins on anything and I'm a happy girl. I am crazy about this bag. For reals.

Fall offically begins tomorrow!
